Quality Control & Cold-Chain Logistics

Every load verified at origin, cold‑treated in transit, cleared at a USDA‑bonded gateway.

Procurement officers don’t lose sleep over price — they lose sleep over a rejected load at Pharr. GoSh’s cold-chain is built to make that conversation never happen: on-site inspectors at nine origin packing facilities, instrumented reefer corridors, and a 48,000 sq ft USDA-bonded warehouse standing between the container seal and your receiving dock.

The two metrics a procurement officer screenshots before forwarding this page.

Every figure below is pulled from internal shipping manifests, USDA entry summaries, and third-party SQF audit reports — not marketing copy. We’re happy to share the underlying documentation under NDA.

  • 92%

    On‑time‑in‑full delivery

Across 11,400+ shipments in 2024. Industry benchmark: 78–84%.

  • 36 mo.

    Zero rejected USDA entry lines

Consecutive months without a single rejected customs line, Q1 2022 through Q4 2024.

  • 14.2M lbs

    Cleared through Pharr bridge

Fresh produce tonnage moved across the Pharr–Reynosa international bridge in 2024.

  • 100%

    USDA‑APHIS cold‑treatment compliance

Every shipment since 2017 has carried APHIS-compliant in-transit cold treatment documentation.

QC Methodology · Chain of Custody

Verification happens before freight moves — not after the claim.

Four auditable checkpoints. Every lot, every load, every time. Documented in our grower ledger and attached to the BOL before the container seal is broken at destination.

  1. 01

    Grower audit & pre-season registration

Every grower in our network is re-credentialed each season: food-safety certificates reviewed, pack-house walked, pesticide logs pulled. Today that ledger holds 2,300+ active partners across Mexico, Peru, Chile, Guatemala, Colombia, Honduras, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, the Dominican Republic, Panama, and Bolivia.

Cadence: Pre-season · Every grower, every year

  2. 02

On-site lot inspection at origin packing

GoSh inspectors are stationed at nine owned or contracted packing facilities across the region. They sample every inbound lot — brix, pressure, defect rate, pulp temp — and sign the pack report before fruit enters the box. Lots that miss spec don’t enter the supply chain. There is no re-sort at the border.

Cadence: Per lot · Before container seal

  3. 03

Container seal & reefer instrument check

The reefer’s temperature recorder is downloaded at seal, the set point is locked to the APHIS cold-treatment schedule for that commodity, and a fresh seal number is logged on the bill of lading. The recorder travels with the container — it’s what your QA team audits on arrival.

Cadence: Once per container · Sealed at origin

  4. 04

    USDA-bonded cross-dock & release

Trucks roll into our 48,000 sq ft USDA-bonded warehouse in Pharr, where the seal is broken, the recorder is read, and the load is cross-docked same-day to its U.S. lane. APHIS documentation, PPQ form 203, and the cold-treatment record travel with every shipment.

    Cadence: Per arrival · Same-day cross-dock

Infrastructure · The physical asset behind the figures

A bonded gateway, not a forwarding address.

The Pharr facility is owned, staffed, and audited by GoSh — not a third-party logistics broker’s brokerage sheet. Same-day cross-dock means a load that clears at 09:00 can be on a U.S. lane by 16:00 the same day, with cold-chain unbroken.

  • SQF Level 3 audit history, 2021–2024
  • Pack-style matrix by commodity (avocado, mango, lime, berry, asparagus)
